(the) Sunday papers
the Sunday papers [the Sunday papers] noun [pl]
(in Britain) newspapers that are sold only on Sundays. Most are published by companies which also publish ↑daily newspapers on the other days of the week, and they usually have the same style, opinions and type of stories as their equivalent ↑daily papers. For example, The Independent on Sunday is similar to ↑Independent. Sunday papers have more pages than ↑daily newspapers, and are usually divided into several sections, such as sport, news and the arts. Many of them also have ↑colour supplements

We spent the whole afternoon in the garden reading the Sunday papers.
